The 2024 Cadillac XT4 is a long-running SUV icon with possibly more social capital than the brand itself, The XT4 has a more appealing outward design and a more capacious interior than competitors like the Audi Q3 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA250.

2024 Cadillac XT4

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 has a base 235-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine—the sole engine available—in the small Cadillac isn’t quite as refined as equivalent engines in the top competing SUVs. The XT4’s road manners are also lacking in comparison, and despite its robust ride, it’s not very enjoyable when the road goes twisty. If you prefer tall-in-the-saddle seating, the XT4 has a higher driving position than other small luxury crossovers—but the Volvo XC40 does as well, and has a more premium cabin.

The Cadillac has updated the exterior of the XT4 with a new front end and modified LED lighting elements, giving it similar styling to the larger XT6 SUV. Apart from that, there are updates to the front, there are also new wheel styles, and several modifications to the rear of the XT4.

The cabin of the 2024 Cadillac XT4 is pleasant and spacious, but it isn’t as high-end as we would anticipate in this luxury segment. The dashboard and upper door panels of the Cadillac The controls and switches appear to be shared with other inexpensive products in the General Motors lineup.

Space is excellent in the top seats and adequate in the back. The cargo area of the Cadillac XT4 is as large as the passenger cabin. The Volvo XC40, which can transport 23 carry-on luggage, is worth a look if you’re searching for a tiny SUV that can haul cargo like a larger one.

Safety And Driver Assistance

Your XT4 premium small SUV comes standard with the Cadillac Smart System suite of safety and driver-aid technologies. You’ll drive with more confidence thanks to features such as emergency braking, intelligent alerts, parking assistance, and vehicle monitoring.

2024 Cadillac XT4 Engine

All Cadillac XT4 are powered by a 235-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission and either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The 2019 XT4 Sport we tested reached 60 mph in a disappointing 7.8 seconds. Despite this, the XT4 felt quick around town and on the highway. Ignore Cadillac’s claim that the XT4 is sporty. It’s more of a cruiser than a sports SUV.

The ride remains comfortable so long as the road is generally flat, but uneven stretches of asphalt transmit a lot of vibrations and abrupt impacts into the interior, especially when equipped with the optional 20-inch wheels. The steering is also disappointing, as it is neither pleasant nor straight in its action. The XT4’s one definitive control is its braking systems, which brought our test car down from 70 mph in our emergency braking test in 172 feet thanks to just one of the firmest brake pedals we’ve seen.

Cadillac XT4 Fuel Efficiency

Although its fuel-saving cylinder deactivation, the XT4 receives entirely ordinary EPA fuel-economy estimates, with front-wheel-drive variants getting 30 mpg on the interstate. Our all-wheel-drive test vehicle only managed 27 of the EPA-rated 29 mpg in our real-world highway fuel-economy test. Visit the Environmental Protection Agency webpage for more details on the Cadillac XT4 fuel efficiency.

2024 Cadillac XT4 Price

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 starts at $39,090 and may go up to $43,190 based on trim and options. The Premium Luxury and Sport models are around the same price, but because the former does not live up to its name and the latter is more enjoyable to drive, we recommend the XT4 Sport. It boasts distinctive inside elements, distinctive wheel designs, plus blacked-out exterior trim. The Sport model also has an adjustable damper suspension and more bolstered front seats.
