2024 Mitsubishi Triton Review: Redesign, Specs, Price

Posted on

The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton isn’t going to be sold in the United States. This’s a shame, considering the new midsize pickup is brimming with features that American truck customers have been lacking. As an example, consider a raised manual, diesel, single-cab vehicle equipped with standard torque vectoring. If everything seems appealing, continue reading since it later gets even better. The most noticeable enhancement to the Mitsubishi Triton’s new appearance will be made in 2024. This truck will have a more aggressive look and more notable features.

2024 Mitsubishi Triton Redesign

After a decade in the marketplace, the all-new Triton (also known as the L200) is redesigned with a new, larger, yet lighter body that will be available in single, extended, and crew cab configurations. It’s built on a new ladder frame that’s said to be up to 40% stiffer, and it has double-wishbone front suspension with increased travel. The rear suspension is a simpler leaf-spring arrangement, although it now features larger shocks.

Although the length of the cargo area has not been defined, Mitsubishi has dropped the tailgate height by 1.8 inches for easy loading and fitted a step to the rear bumper. Payload and towing capacities have also not been revealed, though Mitsubishi referred to it as a one-ton truck, which was most likely rounded up from its real payload rating.

In terms of the interior, the dashboard has been expanded to accommodate bigger cup holders and an extra-large terminal bin, as well as additional storage. There are USB power outlets, a wireless charging pad, and interior switches that may be used while wearing gloves (like Ford does). Mitsubishi also moved the engine oil drain, eliminating the need for removing underneath protection on off-road versions during oil changes. To top it all off, the Triton comes standard with LED daytime running lights, a limited set of cutting-edge driving aids, and adaptive cruise control.

2024 Mitsubishi Triton Engine

The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is powered by a 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine that produces 150 to 201 horsepower and 243 to 347 pound feet of torque depending on specification. Like the new inline-four gasoline-powered models from Chevy and Ford, this seems like firmware/software is going to determine how much power is generated instead of actual physical variations in the engine. Power is routed through a six-speed automatic transmission, with manual shift controls available on some variants. A three-pedal manual appears unlikely to be produced. While 200 horsepower falls short of most American market options, it’s an excellent fit for Asian markets where fuel efficiency is generally favored over pure power and towing torque is more useful than low 0-60 times.

With standard Active Yaw Control torque vectoring from the Lancer Evolution, the Triton maintains traction and functions as an “active LSD” by applying brake force. It means that virtue having bigger dimensions or robustness, its turning radius is less than that of the preceding model.

2024 Mitsubishi Triton Price

The Triton variant is presently available for $30,001, which could change. Furthermore, the most costly model costs nearly $60,000. Although simply an estimate, the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton pricing will most likely be higher than the current model. Mitsubishi promises that the first official photographs will be released in the coming months and that sales will commence shortly thereafter. The Mitsubishi Triton is set to be on sale in Bangladesh in September 2023, with prices ranging from $21,000 to $30,000.
